PORT RICHMOND SAVINGS BANK
Housing a local community bank this façade renovation takes a utilitarian mid-century building and transforms it into a jewel box. The storefront glazing was selected to balance transparency and reflectivity: revealing the bank interiors while reflecting the surrounding built fabric of rowhomes, businesses, churches and a local park. Patinaed copper panels were chosen to pay homage to the bronze and copper clad church spires that surround the building while the blackened steel ribs and horizontal projections provide shadows and visual depth.
