Queens Museum of Art

The competition called for a renovation and expansion into the rest of the Queens Museum of Art’s current home, the New York City Building in Corona Park.  This proposal is composed around a programmatic matrix of phenomenal elements: large, artificially lit; large, naturally lit; small, artificially lit; small naturally lit galleries and the existing model of New York City.  These elements are then connected by a series of warping planes whose perimeter act as a continuous, spiraling ramp terminating in a glass canopied, large format exhibition space and rooftop garden.
